The National School for Girls and Infants
The School in Wells Road was built in 1848 and was situated at the bottom of Constitution Hill or School Hill as it was then known. Following the opening of Queens Road Council School for Boys, Girls and Infants in Whitsun 1913. The old National school in Wells Road closed and was subsequently used as a Church Hall and social venue until it was demolished in 1973. A private house occupies the site today.
