Archiving and Reminiscing our memories of Yesterday |
|
|
Founded in 2002, the Fakenham and District Community Archive was started by a passionate group of volunteers committed to creating and preserving a digital collection of photographs and oral histories. The archive is made up of cherished memories generously shared by people from Fakenham and the surrounding villages.
You can explore the whole community archive collection during our public archive sessions, held on the last Tuesday of each month from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Fakenham Parish Church.
During our public sessions you can search the whole archive on our laptop computers, watch a slideshow, view our photo displays and look through our huge collection of scrapbooks and press cuttings.
We’re always happy to add interesting local photos or memories to the community archive. Feel free to bring them along to be scanned and returned the same day. Everyone’s welcome to join us for a friendly afternoon with tea, coffee, and biscuits. A voluntary donation on arrival, which includes refreshments, would be greatly appreciated to help cover costs.
Be sure to check our news page for any updates to the schedule. |
